Children's therapy services

Children's therapies include those offered by dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, plus speech and language therapists.

We also offer some community orthotics for children known to the physiotherapy service, and offer assessment and prescription of some specialist equipment for children with complex health needs to help with their therapy programme.

Therapists and dietitians are part of a group of health workers called Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), and all are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

We work with children who have been identified as needing specialist support and use our specialist skills  to assess the need and work with families, nurseries, schools and others to ensure children and young people receive the help and support they need in everyday life and across different situations. Our aim is to give children, young people and their families the information they need and the ideas and strategies they can use to become confident and as independent as possible.

Children’s therapy services are funded by Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group.

Our aim is for your child not to need us any more, either because the difficulties they had have now been resolved, or because they've learnt good strategies and ways of managing their difficulty.
